- Cost - from £145 p.p.

Includes - 2 nights 4 star B&B (assuming 2 sharing a double / twin room); welcome meeting with tour info pack provided; and advice contact no.

Itinerary

For this self-guided tour, we design tourist routes and provide maps to allow you to take your own car and visit some of of these famous locations. We can amend our routes to take in places you have a particular interest in.

We take you to Kirkcudbright and Gatehouse of Fleet to see some of the locations used in filming Dorothy L. Sayers's 1930's murder mystery novel,  Five Red Herrings and also cult movie, The Wickerman starring  Edward Woodward.

Ideally you should read the Five Red Herrings book and then appreciate the locations when you visit. There is also the option to travel further west to visit the former Gatehouse station and into the Galloway Forest Park to see place where the murder was committed.

Similarly further west there are significant Wickerman locations, probably too many to cover them all in 2 days but we can tailor the trip accpordingly.

We hope to get access to copies of both the Five Red Herrings TV series and the Wickerman film which you can watch in evenings in your accommodation.
